1. NAME
Catalina Channel Swimming Federation
2. OBJECTIVES
- To observe and authenticate persons who swim the Catalina Channel.
- To promote the safety and welfare of the swimmer.
- To furnish information to and advise those intending to make the swim.
- To gather and preserve historical Catalina Channel swimming data.
- To promote interest in Catalina Channel Swimming.
3. MEMBERSHIP
- Membership shall consist of the following categories:
Information Packet only $ 8.00
Regular/Swimmer $ 25.00
Senior Citizens (60 and above) $ 10.00
Lifetime Membership $ 250.00- Membership is open to all persons interested in swimming.
- Dues are to be paid by December 31st of each year.
- Each paid up member will receive one vote.
4. ADMINISTRATION
The Federation will be managed by an Executive Secretary/Treasurer who will receive a small yearly stipend.
5. DUTIES AND POWERS OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY/TREASURER
- To carry out the rules and conduct Federation business.
- To appoint sub-committees, and chairpersons as needed. Committees will be designated as:
- Swim Sanctioning
- Rules
- Publicity
- Welcoming
- Annual Meeting
- Paddlers
- Navigation
- Others as deemed necessary
- To control Federation funds and submit annual reports.
- To observe and authenticate persons who swim the Catalina Channel.
- To appoint official observers who will verify that all rules are strictly adhered to.
- To record details of all swims and retain documents in connection therewith.
- To keep the history of the swims updated.
- To take other action to further the interest of the Federation.
6. SUCCESSFUL SWIMS
Each successful swimmer will receive a Catalina Channel Swimming Federation Certificate.
- Each individual successful swimmer will receive a Catalina Channel Swimming Federation medallion. A small medallion will also be presented for each member of a successful relay.
- Each individual swimmer or relay will be given ten support certificates. Additional certificates may be secured for $1.00 each.
- All Catalina Channel swimming awards will be presented at the annual awards banquet generally held the first weekend in November.
