1. NAME

Catalina Channel Swimming Federation

2. OBJECTIVES

1. To observe and authenticate persons who swim the Catalina Channel.
2. To promote the safety and welfare of the swimmer.
3. To furnish information to and advise those intending to make the swim.
4. To gather and preserve historical Catalina Channel swimming data.
5. To promote interest in Catalina Channel Swimming.

3. MEMBERSHIP

1. Membership shall consist of the following categories:
   

   Information Packet only $ 8.00
   Regular/Swimmer $ 25.00
   Senior Citizens (60 and above) $ 10.00
   Lifetime Membership $ 250.00

2. Membership is open to all persons interested in swimming.
3. Dues are to be paid by December 31st of each year.
4. Each paid up member will receive one vote.

4. ADMINISTRATION

The Federation will be managed by an Executive Secretary/Treasurer who will receive a small yearly stipend.

5. DUTIES AND POWERS OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY/TREASURER

1. To carry out the rules and conduct Federation business.
2. To appoint sub-committees, and chairpersons as needed. Committees will be designated as:

1. Swim Sanctioning
2. Rules
3. Publicity
4. Welcoming
5. Annual Meeting
6. Paddlers
7. Navigation
8. Others as deemed necessary

3. To control Federation funds and submit annual reports.
4. To observe and authenticate persons who swim the Catalina Channel.
5. To appoint official observers who will verify that all rules are strictly adhered to.
6. To record details of all swims and retain documents in connection therewith.
7. To keep the history of the swims updated.
8. To take other action to further the interest of the Federation.

6. SUCCESSFUL SWIMS

Each successful swimmer will receive a Catalina Channel Swimming Federation Certificate.

1. Each individual successful swimmer will receive a Catalina Channel Swimming Federation medallion. A small medallion will also be presented for each member of a successful relay.
2. Each individual swimmer or relay will be given ten support certificates. Additional certificates may be secured for $1.00 each.
3. All Catalina Channel swimming awards will be presented at the annual awards banquet generally held the first weekend in November.
