    Invitation to 2015 Awards Banquet

Awards Ceremony & Breakfast on Saturday, November 7
Honoring Relay Teams and Solo Swimmers of 2015

Please join the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation on Saturday November 7 at our annual awards ceremony. This year’s brunch and banquet will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro, starting at 10 in the morning.

Seating is limited, so tickets must be purchased in advance. Please print and return the 2015 awards banquet invite.

You may also find the RSVP invite posted at the CCSF website.

We request that swimmers submit about a dozen photos from their Catalina adventure. A media presentation, composed by Paula Selby, allows banquet attendees to witness memorable scenes from every crossing.

The weekend in San Pedro will be filled with open water celebrations. On Friday night, November 6, at the DoubleTree, the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame inducts the 2015 honorees. Tickets are available here.

On the evening of Saturday November 7, the Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association entertains on a dinner cruise. If it’s anything like last year’s event, the cruise offers fantastic views of the coast and Los Angeles port. In addition, it’s a wonderful opportunity to socialize with marathon swimmers— without getting wet.

Every crossing of the Catalina Channel is remarkable and will be recognized at the awards banquet. A few of the highlights from the 2015 CCSF season include:

  • Men’s record for the oldest swimmer
  • First ever over-80 relay crossing
  • Two records in the men’s under-20 relay category
  • Relay record for women in their 20s
  • First solo swimmer from Germany
  • First female from Italy to make a solo crossing
  • First solo female from the Czech Republic
  • First two-way Catalina crossing by an international athlete
  • Also, three solo swimmers who returned for a repeat performance

That’s just a taste of all the impressive successes in 2015. Please join us in honoring these marvelous athletes at the San Pedro DoubleTree on Saturday November 7Photos from previous banquets are here.
